The orvis encounter offers great performance at an excellent price, I reviewed a lot of outfits but this is a fine fly rod. I am a beginner in fly fishing and read many gear reviews, angling guides, and attended events before I bought my orvis encounter fly rod.
5/30/2020 · Orvis Encounter Rod Review. Overall, the Orvis Encounter rod is a great choice for anglers of all skill levels, but it works best for those fairly new to fly fishing. It’s not in its element on large water with difficult conditions, but it will handle just about everything else.

The bottom of the reel stand sits off the rod and took some patience to get it to sit in both reel sets. That being said, the value of this overall package greatly outweighs this minor annoyance. Absolutely recommend for.

10/18/2019 · We love the Orvis Encounter Waders because they check all the boxes of a quality pair of waders. They’re lightweight, breathable, and most importantly, comfortable. However, we wouldn’t recommend these waders for near-freezing climatic conditions because they aren’t warm enough.
